This 4 Hour Confined Space Training course satisfies the training requirements for the OSHA 29 CFR 1926 Subpart AA Permit-Required Confined Spaces Standard. Entering and working in a confined space is a high-risk job. It is crucial (and required) that all persons involved in confined space entry work such as supervisors, entrants, attendants, and rescue personnel understand the potential hazards of a confined space and adhere to safe work practices and entry procedures. Confined spaces can be found on many worksites, and they can limit the mobility of people who work within them. Confined spaces include (but are not limited to) underground vaults, tanks, storage bins, manholes, pits, silos, process vessels, and pipelines.

Key elements of the OSHA Permit-Required Confined Spaces Regulation (1926 Subpart AA)

  • Confined spaces concepts and terminology
  • The difference between confined spaces and permit-required confined spaces
  • How to identify and evaluate hazards: atmospheric, mechanical, chemical
  • Procedures for controlling hazards
  • Proper protective equipment for confined spaces
  • Duties of the entry supervisor, entrant, and attendant
  • Procedures for self-rescue, non-entry rescue, entry rescue by company employees, and entry rescue by emergency responders
  • Completing the entry process
