This Privacy Policy explains what information the TriventGO mobile app (“TriventGO,” “the app,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices and rights you have. TriventGO is published by Trivent Safety Consulting, based in Wheat Ridge, Colorado. Please read this policy alongside our Terms of Use.

Plain-language summary. TriventGO has no user accounts and does not ask for your name, email, or login. We identify your app installation only by a random, pseudonymous device ID generated on your device. Most of your data — your certifications list, your Ask AI chat history, your free-query count, your consent choice, and your reminder settings — stays on your device and is never sent to us. When you use Ask AI, the text of your question is sent to Anthropic (Claude) through our server to generate an answer, and we store the conversation (your questions and the answers) for quality and safety review for up to 90 days — answers you report are kept longer while we review them. When you submit a Hazard Review (a Pro feature), your photo, description, and contact detail are stored by Trivent so a consultant can review the hazard and reply to you. We do not sell your personal information and we do not show ads.

2. No accounts — identity is a pseudonymous device ID

TriventGO does not use accounts, sign-in, passwords, names, or email addresses to identify you. Instead, when you first open the app, your device generates a random, pseudonymous device identifier (a UUID). This ID:

  • is created on your device and is not derived from any personal or hardware identifier;
  • is used as the identifier for your subscription (RevenueCat appUserID), as the key for usage metering and rate limiting, and as the idempotency key for Hazard Review submissions;
  • is re-verified on our server when it interacts with our backend so that entitlement and usage checks are trustworthy.

Because we have no accounts, we generally cannot connect the device ID to your real-world identity unless you voluntarily provide contact information (for example, the required contact detail when you submit a Hazard Review, or the device ID you include in a deletion request email).

3. Information we collect and how we use it

The table below lists every category of data the app handles, where it goes, why, and how long it is kept. Detailed descriptions follow.

Data category What it is Where it goes Purpose Retention
Pseudonymous device ID A random UUID generated on-device On-device; sent to our server, RevenueCat, and included in deletion requests you send Identify the installation for subscriptions, usage metering, and Hazard idempotency Kept on device until you uninstall; kept in server records tied to activity below until deleted
Ask AI conversations The questions you type, a few recent conversation turns, and the AI answers Your device → our server → Anthropic (Claude) to generate the answer; the conversation is stored in our database Generate an OSHA/safety answer; quality and safety review of the assistant Deleted automatically after 90 days, except reported answers (see below)
Reported AI responses An AI answer you flag with the in-app Report control Flagged in our database (with your report reason) + emailed to office@triventsc.com via Postmark Review and improve safety/quality; respond to flagged output Retained beyond the 90-day window while under review; deleted on request
Hazard Review submission (Pro) A jobsite photo, a text description, and your required reply contacts (email address and phone number) Your device → our server → stored in our database; an alert email (description excerpt + your email and phone, no photo) goes to office@triventsc.com via Postmark Let a Trivent consultant review the hazard and reply to you Kept until resolved/deleted on request

3.1 Ask AI (conversations processed by Anthropic and stored for review)

Ask AI is a U.S. OSHA occupational-safety assistant. When you send a question, the text of your prompt plus a few recent conversation turns is transmitted to our server, which forwards it to Anthropic to generate an answer. Your device never calls Anthropic directly — our server holds the API key and acts as a proxy. Ask AI has no open web browsing; it is scoped to 29 CFR 1910 (General Industry) and 1926 (Construction) and cites specific standards.

We store your Ask AI conversations — each question and the final answer, grouped by conversation and keyed to your pseudonymous device ID — in our database so Trivent staff can review the assistant’s answers for quality and safety. Stored conversations are deleted automatically after 90 days. The one exception is an answer you choose to Report/flag using the in-app control: the flagged answer (with your report reason) is kept beyond the 90-day window while we review it, and a copy is emailed to office@triventsc.com. Staff review transcripts read-only; they are never edited. You are told this — and asked to consent — before your first question is sent.

Anthropic’s commercial API does not train its models on the prompts we submit by default. See Anthropic’s privacy terms for details.

3.2 Hazard Review (Pro only)

If you have Trivent Pro, you can submit a hazard for consultant review. The submission includes a jobsite photo, a text description, and your required reply contacts (an email address and a phone number) so a consultant can reply to you. The submission — photo included — is stored in our database, where Trivent consultants manage its review (status, assignment, and internal review notes); an alert email with a short description excerpt and your contact (no photo) is sent to office@triventsc.com via Postmark. Submissions are kept until reviewed and are deleted on request. The Camera and Photo Library are accessed only when you attach a hazard photo, and only with your permission.

3.3 Usage metering and rate limiting

To enforce the free tier (5 Ask AI queries per month) and to protect the service with rate limits, we keep per-device usage counters in our database keyed by your pseudonymous device ID. These counters do not contain your prompt content — only counts and timestamps.

3.4 Subscriptions and payments

Trivent Pro ($29/month, auto-renewing, with a 7-day free trial) is purchased through the Apple App Store or Google Play using native in-app purchase. RevenueCat manages your entitlement and receives your device ID together with purchase/receipt information from the store. Trivent never receives your card or payment details — payment is handled entirely by Apple or Google. You manage or cancel your subscription in your App Store or Google Play account.

3.5 On-device data (never sent to us)

Your certifications list, Ask AI chat history (the copy of the conversation shown in the app, kept until you start a new chat or clear local data), free-query count, AI-consent flag, and cert-reminder preference are stored locally on your device (using MMKV). The chat history itself is never transmitted as such — only each question and a few recent turns are sent when you ask (§3.1). Certification reminders are on-device local notifications — there is no push server and we do not receive your reminder schedule.

4. Third parties who process data for us

We share data only with the service providers needed to run the app’s features. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising or cross-context behavioral tracking.

Processor What it handles Why
Anthropic (Claude) Ask AI prompt text Generates AI answers. Does not train on our prompts by default.
Render Our API server + Postgres database (AI chat logs, hazard submissions, usage counters) Backend hosting and storage
Postmark Hazard alert emails and reported-AI emails Transactional email delivery to office@triventsc.com
RevenueCat Device ID + purchase/receipt/entitlement data Subscription entitlement management
Apple App Store / Google Play Purchase and payment processing App distribution and billing

Each processor handles data under its own privacy terms. We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect our rights or the safety of others, or in connection with a business transfer, in each case consistent with this policy.

5. Children’s privacy

TriventGO is a professional occupational-safety tool intended for use by adults in a workplace context. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information to us, contact office@triventsc.com and we will delete it. (Note that our app’s store age rating may be higher than 13 because it can surface first-aid / safety guidance.)

6. Data retention and deletion

On-device data (certifications, free-query count, AI-consent flag, reminder preference) remains on your device until you delete it, clear local data, or uninstall the app; we never receive it.

Ask AI conversations are deleted from our database automatically after 90 days. The exception is answers you flagged with the in-app Report control, which are retained beyond that window while we review them (and are still covered by a deletion request, below).

Other server-side data — hazard submissions (photo, description, contact, review notes), reported-AI records/emails, and usage counters — is tied to your pseudonymous device ID and is retained until you request deletion or until it is no longer needed for the purpose it was collected.

You have two ways to remove data:

  1. Clear local data on this device (in the app’s Settings). This wipes your device-local data — certifications, Ask AI chat history, saved query count, AI-consent choice, and reminder preferences — and cancels any scheduled reminders. It keeps your pseudonymous device ID so that a subscription restore and any coherent server-side deletion request stay linked to the right installation.
  2. Request server-side data deletion. From the app’s Settings, “Request data deletion” opens a prefilled email to office@triventsc.com that includes your device ID. On receiving it, we delete the server-side records tied to that device ID — Ask AI conversations (reported answers included), hazard submissions, reported-AI records, and usage counters. Because there are no accounts, no account deletion is required. You can also send this request directly to office@triventsc.com (include your device ID) without using the in-app link.

Deletion of records stored by Apple, Google, or RevenueCat for billing and tax purposes is governed by those providers’ policies.

Before your first Ask AI question is sent, the app shows a consent screen that names Anthropic as the third-party AI provider, discloses that Trivent stores your conversations for quality review with a 90-day retention (reported answers kept longer), and asks you to opt in. Your choice is stored on your device.

You can revoke consent / stop this processing at any time by:

  • not using Ask AI (no prompt text is sent unless you send a question), and/or
  • using “Clear local data on this device” in Settings, which clears your stored consent flag (you will be asked to consent again the next time you use Ask AI).

Camera/Photos and notification permissions are controlled through your device’s system settings and are only requested when a feature needs them.

8. Your privacy rights

8.1 California (CCPA/CPRA)

If you are a California resident, you have the right to know/access the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected, the right to delete it, the right to correct inaccurate information, and the right to opt out of “sale” or “sharing” of personal information. We do not sell or share your personal information as those terms are defined under California law, and we do not use it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights. To make a request, email office@triventsc.com (include your device ID so we can locate any server-side records). You may use an authorized agent as permitted by law.

8.2 EEA / UK (GDPR-style rights)

If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict or object to processing of your personal data, and the right to data portability. Our legal bases are: your consent (for sending Ask AI prompt text to Anthropic and for storing your Ask AI conversations for quality review — withdrawable at any time as described in Section 7), performance of a contract (providing the app and your Pro subscription), and our legitimate interests (operating, securing, and improving the service, including rate limiting and reviewing reported AI output). Some data may be processed in the United States; where required, transfers rely on appropriate safeguards. You may lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. To exercise any right, email office@triventsc.com.

Because we identify you only by a pseudonymous device ID and do not otherwise hold identifying information, we may ask you to provide your device ID (and, for server-side records, verify control of the associated submission) so we can act on your request. In some cases we may be unable to identify data relating to you if you cannot supply your device ID.

9. Data security and international processing

We use reputable service providers (Render, Anthropic, Postmark, RevenueCat, Apple, Google) and transmit data over encrypted connections. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. Our processors operate in the United States and may process data there; where applicable law requires it, such processing relies on appropriate legal safeguards.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time — for example, to reflect new features, service providers, or legal requirements. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above and post the new version at this URL (https://www.triventsc.com/privacy-policy/). Material changes will be communicated by updating the app or this page. Your continued use of TriventGO after an update means you accept the revised policy.
